Mayaajaal (The Web of Illusion) is a 13-part Marathi horror-erotic novel by Rishabh. It follows Raghava Deshmukh, a young man tormented by sex addiction and recurring nightmares of three women from his ancestral wada. Through hypnosis, he is forced to confront repressed memories of forbidden desire, mother-son and sibling incest, violent encounters, and the awakening of Kamarakshas — a lustful demonic entity summoned through ancient village rituals of fire, mantra, and sacrifice. The story interweaves raw, explicit sensuality with psychological dread and supernatural horror, showing how passion becomes possession and how the web of illusion never fully breaks.
